Founded in 1968 in the mountain village of Arougou near Khenifra, Ben Brahim Rugs was born from a family tradition of weaving and storytelling. Brahim, our founder, worked hand in hand with his wife Cherifa, whose loom became the heart of their home. Together, they transformed wool into works of art that captured the rhythm of the Atlas Mountains and the warmth of Moroccan life.
As their reputation grew, Cherifa’s friends and neighbors joined her, weaving not only rugs but also community, laughter, and shared dreams. Brahim carried their creations to the souk of Khenifra, where travelers admired each piece for its texture, detail, and soul. His curiosity led him to Mrirt, known for its pure wool and expert artisans, where he learned, exchanged, and returned with new inspiration.
By 1975, Brahim had become one of the first merchants in the new Souk of Carpets in Khenifra, now known as Joutia Lakdima. What began as a humble family craft has since grown into a lasting legacy, three generations united by one belief:
